Be Confident in you!!!
Often times we as women struggle with the parts of our bodies that we are insecure about. We tend to hide behind the imperfections and cover up those areas that aren't quite appealing to what society feels that it should be.
When i was younger, I use to struggle with never meeting the expectations of society. Even when I was at my smallest weight, I was still considered to be on the "Heavy Side". I was never the right size for anyone including, myself. I could remember going to church (Haitian church) at the age of 21 and hearing the members tell me that I'm too big, and that I needed to loose weight. Now, if you are Haitian, you know that these folks have no filter whatsoever, LOL!!! I would laugh it off but deep down inside, it's something that really hurt me, and it was something that I struggled within. I could remember being so hungry that I would buy some good ole fried chicken (Haitian style of course), along with fried plantains and having people pass by and say, you really shouldn't be eating that. You're too big. Like what the WHAT!!!! Society has embedded in our minds of how we should look, how we should act, and dictate who we should be.
I made a decision long time ago that I would be comfortable with who I am, in whatever season I am in. Whether I gained a little bit of weight, or maybe lost too much, no matter what, I should be ok with it. I believe in being health and taking care of the only body that was given to us. However, I refuse to allow myself to be consumed about the thoughts of society "THINKS". Maybe today you are struggling with the idea of what being where you want to be...that is ok. We all go through it. We all get to that point in our lives where we think that we should be doing a whole lot better. But don't let it consume you. Take it day by day, step by step.
Its a process!!!
